GOOD INTENTIONS

As we all know you go into XMAS with good intentions but as always, you run into people that you haven't seen for ages and have afew drinks and your plan goes out the window. Of late i have done very little riding but because my two little girls are learning to swim i have been getting some swimming in instead. My Ay Ups have been getting some use but on the fishing seen instead.

Catch you all in the New year and keep the wheels turning

Training

This week i started running again for a little cross training with my mate Matt. My legs soon reminded why have not run for near on 12 months. I am hoping with a bit of running and afew more kms on the bike each week will put in a pretty good position to race come next year.

Ay Up Geko Review

For the last week or so i have been night riding with Ay Ups new Geko light and Battery attachments. well what would you expect from Ay Up? Nothing but awesome of course! There is no other company out there that has designed a system that you can put a light and bracket and 3hr battery and bracket on your helmet in under 20seconds. The brackets are held on by 8 little velcro pads about the size of a 5 cent piece. The whole system would weigh under 400 grams if not less. When i first attached the bracket to my helmet i shook the hell out of my helmet just to make sure the light would not come off. Didn't budge. On the first ride i did which was up Mt Cootha with my mate Pearso as were hooking through some single track i got my helmet light caught on a branch and once again the lights didn't budge.

Well done Ay Up

Pedal Power Plus

As you can see i have added a couple of pictures of Daves shop to my Blog. Dave has been helping me out with gear and bikes since i started doing 24's. Dave is up in Mary street Gympie and pretty much the only shop up here, so if you get stuck up this way and need some parts look him up. I just want to say thanks to Dave and the Pedal Pwr crew for helping me on my mission to make it to the world 24hr 1 day. After a couple of months of nagging on my behalf i convinced Dave and Jacob to come down and do the Verticon 6hr held last month. There geared up for the Ay Up Dusk til Dawn now.

Verticon 6hr

My last race for the year turned out to be pretty good. Pearso and me were racing solo and with our ace pit crew [ Kiri, Al, Kel and my two girls Kaitlin and Charlotte] we had to perform. Pearso with a great effort finished 25th with myself fininshing 3rd. A massive thanks to the crew..... The course is going to be the venue for the Dusk to Dawn cant wait.

Just a bit of a background blog, it all started back in 2005 with my first ever 24hr race the Mont. At the beginning of this year i decide to get serious about 24hr racing and with the support of my family and best mate Pearso, i have had an unbelievable year, with two podium finishes
